What is DRD4?
The DRD4 gene encodes the Dopamine Receptor D4, which is a type of G-protein coupled receptor. This receptor is primarily involved in the brain’s dopamine signaling pathways, particularly in areas that regulate emotion and complex behaviors. In other words, the DRD4 gene contributes to the behaviors connected with dopamine levels, such as novelty-seeking, risk-taking. This is one of the reasons why all of us are born with the ability to explore and discover.
Now you know what inspired the name and the vision of our studio. The name ‘DRD4’ stands for being open to rebel against the norm, to create brave new worlds which consists of immersive stories and adventures, and managing to boost dopamine levels of the gamers to enjoy our games.
About Us
DRD4 Studio is a game development studio based in Malaysia. We build immersive games from the ground up. Though now we are in a small indie team, all of the members are experienced developers in the video game industry who has worked for companies such as Bandai Namco, Passion Republic and Ammobox Studio.
Now we have been working for some prototypes and demos, and manage to turn one of them into a feasible project. Hopefully we plan to announce our first title in the near future.
